I spent 12 years in fire and EMS. I was the paramedic who showed up to every call and went home to nothing. I was obese and getting winded on the stairs. I was the husband who was physically present and completely absent. I was the man who told himself the job was the reason, because the job was easier to blame than the mirror.

I got fired for saying something true publicly. And it cost me. But it also freed me.

What I built on the other side of that is what I now teach. Not theory. Not a framework I read in a book. A system I built from the rubble of a life that wasn't working, and tested on myself first.
